A Marvel-lous few days at the HCA Forum 2019

On the 11th April the Premier Foods Foodservice team made the trip to the stunning Celtic Manor Resort in Newport for the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) annual leadership and development forum. It was organised by the Welsh branch of the HCA and sponsored by Marvel. What an amazing event they created.

The theme of this year’s event was evolution and resolution focusing on food, debate, business and learning and development. It’s always fantastic to see our colleagues and friends in the world of hospital catering as well as learning about the latest insight into an industry that does so many incredible things to improve the health and hospital experience for all in the UK.

We had a Goldilocks and the Three Bears themed stand which looked amazing and provided lots of fun for the visitors who could literally put themselves into our storyboard. Visitors could also sample our fortified porridge and learn how it is packed full of nutrients and vitamins, as well as tasting delicious. Plenty of photos were taken and shared throughout the two-day event. You can see the photos on Twitter using the hashtag #MarvellousMarvel.

Our team were also giving away tasty recipes which had been created by our development chef using our Marvel dried milk. This product is a convenient and long-lasting way of giving milk flavour to a variety of dishes as well as adding micronutrients to food. The Premier Foods recipes included:

  • Mexican style chilli minced beef fortified with dairy protein
  • Porridge oats steeped in milk, cocoa and added Marvel
  • Rich smoothie with bananas, milk, yoghurt and peanut butter, vanilla and oats fortified with dairy protein
  • A deep filled lemon cheesecake with a fresh blueberry topping.

These recipes went down a storm as caterers are constantly look for new inspiration. If you would be interested in receiving one of these recipes card, get in touch via one of our social media channels @PremierFoods_FS.
