Premier Foods introduces its Hospital Solutions Guide

At this year’s HCA Forum, we will be launching our brand new Hospital Solutions Guide. It will unveil brand new research conducted by YouGov on behalf of Premier Foods, which looks at patient, staff and visitor catering preferences in hospitals. We’ve used this research to help create new recipe solutions for hospital caterers such as our Crustless Quiche, Butternut Squash Scones and Fruit and Seed Flapjack Bar.

We understand the importance of providing regular, tasty and nutritious meals to patients, staff and visitors in the hospital environment. Within the guide we’ve catered for the many different preferences and lifestyle choices, with patients ranging from young children to the elderly, minor injuries to major illnesses, all with varying cultural background and nutritional requirements.

Our variety of recipes aims to meet those needs. The guide is based on the results of three online surveys which were conducted as part of the research by YouGov. The findings show patients want to see more snacks and light food options available outside of meal times, so we’ve created our Set Fruited Yoghurts recipe, a dish that’d work well as a satisfying snack or light dessert option.

Encouraging a healthy diet is a major priority for the NHS so providing filling meals and healthy snacking alternatives to fuel staff throughout the day is also essential. To meet this requirement we’ve created our Fruit and Seed Flapjack Bar which can be altered with a variety of ingredients, such as fruits or nuts. Portions sizes can also be controlled to deliver specific nutritional value or meet a particular price point.
